Devlog #08: end of production


Cleaning 

The line renderer used for the player character used to clutter the scene by spawning somewhere in the level and after being used staying there untill the next use. This is no longer the case so the player has a full overview of the scene.

AxeBug

This week another bug managed to find itself in our code which made it possible to teleport upward into a piece of land. This now has been fixed to prevent players from getting stuck in walls.

Fixing Animations

Enemies didn't trigger idle animations while  being idle which now is the case. The player got some new additions to his animations and also got more transitions so the double jump has an animation and the newly added wall jump.

The Valkyrie color update

So far the Valkyrie was designed, sculpted and implemented, but she had no colors and textures. This week we quickly got down a few color mockups to have a better vision on her final look.

 

The Wings

After having the wings designed it was time to sculpt, rig and animate them manually.

Some more enemies

We created some more enemies for our game! These are the undead that will slow you down on your attempts to reach Valhalla. On the left there's the patrolling enemy and on the right there's the aggressive enemy. 


Various visual improvements

The overall look of the game was improved by the addition of various meshes and effect who now replace elements that used to be represented by basic shapes. As an example, the new soul effect :


Milestone Level block & Particle FX

Last week we added in the milestone that the player will pass when they reach far enough in the level. We've made a small level block that the player can easily access and gain easy free souls to power up their axe teleport again. Alongside this level block, there was the addition of a few particle effects. 


The player leaves a small dust cloud whenever they jump, the souls (as previously shown) you pick up look a bit more flashy than just a normal sphere, the milestone has flames in its braziers. The coolest particle, the axe teleport, has also been implemented.
